Traditional straight razor shaving requires specific technique and careful control. If you are a beginner, we recommend learning the correct movements from a professional barber before using this instrument. Always handle the blade with caution and inspect its condition before shaving.

Prepare your face with warm water, ideally after a shower, to soften the beard hair. Using a shaving brush, work shaving soap or cream into a rich, protective lather and distribute it evenly over the skin.

Carefully open the straight razor and hold it securely, maintaining precise control of the blade. Gently stretch the skin with your free hand, keeping it well away from the cutting edge. Position the blade at a shallow angle to the skin, generally around 20 to 30 degrees, and shave using short, steady strokes without excessive pressure, following the direction of beard growth.
