Originating from the tropical regions of Indonesia, Macassar ebony is a dense, naturally heavy wood valued for its deep tones and distinctive grain patterns. Particularly prized in the decorative arts during the Art Deco period, it remains associated with fine furniture and luxury objects. The varnished handle offers improved moisture resistance and a comfortable grip, while the chrome details highlight the richness of the wood's natural contrasts.

High Mountain White Fibre recreates the softness of the finest natural badger hair without using animal-derived materials. Its delicate tips are particularly suited to sensitive skin, while its suppleness and excellent lathering properties help produce a rich, dense and creamy lather. Durable and quick to dry, this synthetic fibre is also easy to maintain.

Available in standard size 12, this shaving brush features a removable, screw-mounted and replaceable knot. This thoughtful construction allows the distinctive Macassar ebony handle to be preserved over time, extending the pleasure of using a refined shaving accessory, carefully handcrafted in the Plisson workshops in France.

For optimal shaving results, prepare your face with warm water, ideally after a shower, to soften the beard hair and facilitate lather preparation.

With shaving soap: dampen the High Mountain White Fibre knot with warm water, then work the brush in moderate circular motions over the soap, directly in its bowl, without pressing down excessively on the fibres. Continue until a rich, creamy lather develops. Apply the lather to the damp face using circular movements for one to two minutes to distribute the product evenly, gently massage the skin, soften the beard hair and lift it in preparation for shaving.

With shaving cream: after dampening the shaving brush with warm water, place a small amount of cream onto the tip of the knot. Work the cream directly onto the face using circular motions for one to two minutes. Alternatively, apply a small amount of cream to each cheek or into a shaving bowl before working it into a lather with the brush.

Once the lather has been evenly distributed, shave using your preferred razor with precise, controlled movements and without excessive pressure. Reapply shaving lather before any additional pass.

After each use, rinse the knot thoroughly with warm water to remove all traces of shaving soap or cream. Avoid very hot water, which may damage the synthetic fibres.

Gently remove excess water by lightly pressing the fibres between your fingers, without pulling or twisting the knot. Then carefully brush the knot against a clean, dry towel and place the shaving brush on a suitable stand with the knot facing downwards to encourage thorough drying.

To preserve the appearance of the varnished wooden handle and its chrome finish, gently wipe the surfaces with a soft cloth after use. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaning products and rubbing that could scratch or dull the finishes. Do not leave the shaving brush immersed in water for prolonged periods.

Choose soaps and creams specifically formulated for traditional wet shaving and avoid products with an excessively acidic pH, as they may weaken the synthetic fibres and cause premature deterioration. Store the shaving brush in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from persistent moisture.
