The best time to shave is in the morning, just after a shower and before breakfast. At this time of day, the beard hair is softer and easier to cut, while the skin is less sensitive.

Prepare a rich lather using a shaving brush and your favourite Plisson shaving soap or cream. Apply the lather to your damp face using circular motions to lift and soften the beard hair. Shave in the direction of hair growth using light, controlled strokes. For a closer shave, reapply the lather and shave gently against the grain if your skin allows.

Finish by rinsing your face with cool water to refresh the skin, then apply an aftershave balm to soothe and moisturise.

Check the condition of the blade regularly and replace it when it becomes dull to ensure a consistently close, comfortable shave.

After each use, rinse the razor thoroughly with warm water to remove hair and shaving product residue. Dry it carefully with a soft towel and store it in a dry place, ideally on a suitable stand, to preserve its finish and performance over time.
